A rare and exceptionally good, light liquoring Darjeeling tea with an outstanding bouquet. This tea was produced in the Spring of 2008 and we have let it mature under controlled conditions into an exceptionally smooth tea with an amazing flavor. None of the astringent taste that usually accompanies the more recent First Flush Darjeeling teas. The lower level of oxidization in this tea is borne out by the presence of small green pieces of dried leaf and is the sign of a true First Flush Darjeeling tea. In the more recent teas however, these green pieces of dried tea will impart a bitter and very astringent taste. With time, this tea has evolved into the unique flavor of a Vintage tea. We are proud to offer this tea at a very reasonable price. Care must be taken in preparing this tea. Steep in a clear glass tea pot at the rate of 3 grams for 8 ounces of water. Only use spring water or soft water. Water temperature should be 170 F. Set a timer for 3 minutes from the time the hot water is added. You will see the leaves unfurl and sink to the bottom. Strain the liquid into cups. Enjoy!!
